Thing 19, 20, 21, 22, 23

Thing 19 Library Thing Huh?? Wow this is reaching around the world!
not as useful a tool as other things I've used tonight.
http://www.librarything.com/

Thing 20
Explore YouTube!!!???? This has been THE phenomenon in our household for many many months. Jokes, video, tv, home grown or pirated... Very current and you can spend too much time here. Check out John Pinnette "I'm Starvin'" great comedian.

Thing 21
Good Podcast to listen to: http://www.podcast.net/tag/jazzblues

Thing 22
I am very familiar with our SJlibrary.org ebooks collection and music collection, need more music and I hope we can continue to add more MP3 format....helps me be mobile.
I wasn't that impressed, or felt anyway, that the gutenberg.org was useful at this time. I am still excited about Flickr and using a blog. I need to start putting something together for my Unit to use to communicate with the rest of the library system.

Thing 23 Yeah!! finally and thank you for this opportunity to participate. I can tell you I have done some of this barely and some being such a participant, not really delivering a product as I was still just understanding the implications of the tool. There are a lot of tools here and many I can tell you I will use on the job as I continue to develop my skills. I am also going to start placing my pictures of vacations on my blog and list news of my family....stuff to share and keep up to date with others. This would involve others in understanding that they too can become Library 2./0 literate. And oh just the tagging on del.icio.us was such a timesaver!

Thing 18 Yahoooooeeee WoW

What happened to my Lesson 1 saved (I thought) on Zoho Writer. It was simple enough to use.

Helloooo, It's week 6, 7, and 8

I'm running as fast as I can thro these lessons!!!
I'm getting a little confused between weeks and things....
I hope zeroing into the subjects will be enough to split up some of these lessons.
Here goes. The Doc has been appreciating the RSS feeds on Al Gore and Hilliary regarding the different blogs out there I found thro Flickr, how you can add. If I had the time I would return again to see what their response was to my response.

Thing 11 Before I forget I wanted to say something about Last.fm a Library 2.0 award winner. It's great for music selection and some commentary on great music. Week 5 Play Week

Thing 12 Useful Rollyo and I now have an account and a search roll named General News which focuses on a couple of my news sites I use. Very handy when I'm in a hurry. http://www.rollyo.com/index.html

Week 6 and Thing 13
I am making accounts left and right...lately on del.icio.us.com a pretty fun site that I knew about already just too lazy to set up. I do use tagging on my Flickr account.
I like the idea that I now have all my bookmarks sort of set up to be subject or popular search based. I feel spoiled now!! So I have news and music and my hobby stuff in one listing rather than jumping around. Who'd a thought this would be handy...

Thing 14 I explored Technorati in an earlier lesson and did a search on Library 2.0 strangly enough. I went back and did the comparison among search engines within. The searches are different. The advantages on tagging are the compilation feature, the sorting you can do to quickly get to what you want, sorting and grouping and important in the volume we have to dig thro.

Thing 15 Library 2.0 is really getting me to move more of my learning online, my experimenting on the Internet. Everyone has an opinion or groups have a focus. It's where we all are illustrating why blogging, RSS feeds, Wikis are fun and experiemental. They take advantage our our natural curiousity to learn, explore, manipulate knowledge, share!

Thing 16 I've been enjoying the usefulness of Wikipedia for a while now. It is so clean and organic and I would have loved it as a younger student in elementary, middle or secondary school. I would love to participate. If I were doing homeschooling it would be so cool. Currently I would like to see Wikis used for afterschool programming, teen programs, adult book clubs and maybe preschool storytime parent sharing...sort of your online virtual share and play buyt parent style.

Thing 17 after leaving a little restaurant tip my blog is registered on Favorite Blogs on the Library 2.0 wiki.

Flickr and Week 5

RSS feeds are not as reliable for the faint of heart or the non-techie.....me! Blogs are sort of the first phase of my techie transformation.

I know RSS feeds are very useful for running conversations that many can add to, subjects can vary, etc.

Oh and today, what has been fun to browse is the participant's blogs from Library 2.0.

Well I have to go back and play some more with my photos and images. Generating new images then see what I can send them off to do....

Stay tuned

This is the Doc

Week 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Report

Well, I have read thru Learning 2.0 Challenge, Taken a ride thru the 7 1/2 Habits (sound advice), created and posted my own blog Doc BakLaVah, Flickr'd and posted a special photo I took in New York City, tagged it "Friends in the Park" and to do this I needed to create new accounts in yahoo, google and more. After exploring more blogs and other folks' postings, I have found several other new tools I can use in my personal and job time.

It's never too late to understand some long range trends that are outlined here besides the current swing of events headlined.

So good I'm rereading and it's fun. Take a peak at how information access is handled by different types in the story.

Breaking the Spell: religion as a natural phenomenon by Dennett
Heard this was an eye opener and what do we want out of life than to open our eyes.

Eragon by Paolini
Creative, astute character development and all by a kid in H.S.

The Female Brain by Brizendine
This is a fast read and totally important for all females to read, especially when you are in your teens.

Next week's topic : How to make reading time
